Can a dead and depleted bath of Powder Strip be brought back to working order?
Depending on the reasons for a bath no longer working a depleted bath may sometimes be brought back to working order. Sometimes mixing in no more than 6 pounds of dry caustic soda (lye) may bring a bath back to working order. This should be added to the tank when it is completely dead. Over-addition will decrease the stripping ability of the tank.
We have special additives that can boost a bath that has died due to small additions of water.
The best procedure is to contact us and send a sample to our laboratory for analysis. Large additions of water or any liquid such as acetone or paint thinners will permanently destroy the stripping ability of the bath.
