Non-Compatible Materials

What Materials are not compatible with Powder Strip?

Powder Strip is a solvent paint stripper which is designed not to be safe with most polymeric material.

Do not use Powder Strip with PVC. Polyvinyl chloride dissolves readily in the product. It will affect most polyurethanes, polyacetyls, butyl acrylates, butyl methacrylates, nylons, epoxies and phenolics.

Although Powder Strip has a very low rate of attack on aluminum and galvanized metal, over a long period of time there may be some attack on processing tanks made of this material. Aluminum or galvanized tanks may also decrease the life of the stripper.

Equipment used to handle Powder Strip should also be compatible. Do not use vinyl, rubber, or urethane tubing to transfer solutions.
